A well‑established WA engineering and maintenance business is seeking an experienced Heavy-Duty Fitter to join their workshop team on a long‑term basis. The company supports a wide range of clients across mining, industrial services and materials‑handling, providing component rebuilds, equipment overhauls and general mechanical support.
 
This is a dayshift role based south of the river, offering stability, consistent hours and a pathway to permanent employment after an initial six‑month contracting period.
 
The Role
 
You will be responsible for general heavy‑duty mechanical work across a variety of equipment and components, including:
  • Strip, assess, rebuild and assemble mechanical parts and systems
  • Fault‑finding, diagnostics and repair work
  • Preventative maintenance and workshop‑based servicing
  • Ensuring all work meets internal quality and safety standards
  • Supporting broader workshop tasks during peak workloads
What You'll Bring
  • Trade‑qualified Heavy-Duty Fitter (or equivalent)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience in workshop rebuild or maintenance environments
  • Ability to interpret drawings, follow job scopes and work with minimal supervision
  • Reliable, safety‑focused and committed to high‑quality workmanship
