My client is seeking experienced and proactive HSE Advisors to join their team for several upcoming Rio Tinto shutdown projects across the Pilbara region.

Working alongside our client’s site leadership and contractors, you’ll play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement in all aspects of Health, Safety, and Environment performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HSE support, advice, and coaching to shutdown teams and contractors.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments in line with Rio Tinto and legislative standards.
• Facilitate pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, and safety observations to strengthen engagement.
• Lead incident investigations and support the implementation of corrective actions.
• Monitor compliance with SWMS, JHAs, and Permit-to-Work systems.
• Assist with reporting, documentation, and performance tracking in alignment with Rio Tinto’s HSE management systems.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven HSE experience within mining, construction, or shutdown environments
• Rio Tinto inducted
• Cert IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum)
• Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation, ISO standards, and high-risk work controls.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills – confident engaging with crews and supervisors.
• A practical, hands-on approach and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced shutdown setting.
