The Client
Our client is responsible for effective and sustainable planning and the development of industry to support the growth in the state of New South Wales. It makes plans based on evidence for the state’s cities and regions, working with the community, business and local government to create places for people in NSW to live, work and spend their leisure time, while ensuring good access to transport and other services.

Purpose of the role
You will be responsible for contributing to spatial content and mapping data within the Department's infrastructure and systems. This work will support a variety of services, including maintaining our public facing website and mobile app, as well as internal operations such as fire and incident management.
  
Role responsibilities:

• Support the collection, development and maintenance of spatial data for the Department's websites and other channels, to meet local business requirements and enhance customer service experience and deliver
• Support the development and delivery of high quality, customer-focused maps and other spatial services to meet business and stakeholder needs across a variety of customer channels
• Support and administer a range of customer-focused spatial datasets, including analysis, quality assurance and reporting
• Assist in determining and upholding standards and procedures related to these datasets
• Provide advice and support to staff and other stakeholders in relation to spatial data, cartography and other spatial services.

MUST HAVE:

• Eligibility to work full-time in Australia (35 hours/week)
• Demonstrated GIS skills and experience in management of spatial data
• Experience using ArcGIS software
• Demonstrated experience in producing maps for a general (ie. non-technical) audience.
• Demonstrated understanding of online/digital mapping technologies and related spatial services
• Previous experience in a similar role is essential
