About the Company
Well-established, design-led builder delivering commercial, fitout and refurbishment and new build projects across Australia. With a strong pipeline of work Sydney and a collaborative culture focused on quality and innovation, we are helping our client to recruit an experienced Project Engineer that can step into a Small Works Manager  
  
The Position
We are seeking a motivated and capable Manager to take ownership of fitout and refurbishment projects typically valued up to $1 million. This is a great opportunity for a Project Engineer ready to step into a more autonomous, client-facing role and develop their leadership skills on fast-paced, design-driven projects.
  
What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Managing end-to-end delivery of multiple fitout/refurbishment projects (typically <$1M)
  • Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and internal resources to ensure high-quality delivery
  • Building strong relationships with clients and consultants
  • Driving short-duration programs with precision and agility
  • Overseeing safety, quality, and budget across multiple small projects
  • Oversee a team of 2-3 admin staff  + site managers
Ideal Background:
  • 4-5 years of experience in commercial construction
  • Exposure to commercial fitout or refurbishment projects
  • Strong local knowledge of the subbie market
  • A desire to take ownership of small-scale projects from start to finish
  • Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering or related field (preferred)
