Estimator (Contract) – Health & Defence Services Packages
4–6 Month Contract | Major Projects $500m+ | Early 2026 Start
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team on a 4–6 month contract, commencing early 2026. This role is focused on building services (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire, ICT) for major Health and Defence projects with construction values exceeding $500 million.
You will work closely with project, design and commercial teams to develop accurate, timely and data-driven service discipline estimates using CostX.
Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost plans and estimates for building services packages across project phases
• Review drawings, specifications and services models to produce accurate quantity take-offs in CostX
• Analyse subcontractor and supplier pricing, market trends and benchmark data
• Contribute to value engineering, risk reviews and design optimisation
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment on scope and cost impacts
• Support feasibility studies, tenders and business case submissions for major Health and Defence projects

About You

• Demonstrated experience estimating on large-scale projects $500m+
• Strong background in services estimating within Health, Defence or complex infrastructure sectors
• Proficient in CostX for estimating and measurement
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently within a fast-paced project environment
• Clear communication and stakeholder engagement skills

• Rate: Competitive contract rate depending on experience
