Job Description

  • Contract positions for private sector contractor
  • Working on leading rail multibillion dollar project
  • Highly competitive daily rates

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manage technical track engineering functions across government projects
  • Obtain relevant design parameter information for incorporation into detailed designs and construction specifications
  • Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check work drawings, construction and specifications against site plans and conditions and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary
  • Coordinate the activities of an engineering team, programme workloads and provide technical guidance to the engineering staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved
  • Accurate forecasts of costs and revenue and utilise corrective action in line with the companies authority and reporting frameworks to maximise the profit margin
  • Establishing and developing a high-performance team to ensure the project achieves targets
  • Ensuring strong contract, commercial and financial risk management, accurate forecasting of costs and revenue and taking corrective action as required
  • Ensuring HSE requirements and risk controls are considered in all construction planning and processes

  • Degree or similar in a relevant Engineering discipline. I.e. Civil / Mechanical / Railway
  • Proven Project Engineering experience on railway projects
  • Demonstrated understanding of NSW track / perway standards
  • Experience working for a main, sub-contractor or government organisation
  • Strong understanding of the railway sector and essential to the role; track / perway
  • Project Management qualifications helpful but not essential
