Job description

The Role: 

The role operates with a high level of autonomy within the requirements of the agreed work plan objectives and establishes operational priorities in consultation with the Senior Manager. The position is expected to deliver assigned projects to the required quality on time and at or below budget and is fully accountable for the quality, integrity and accuracy of expert advice provided.  Reporting line The role will report to the Senior Manager Planning Approvals. When allocated to Project / Business Case Development teams, the role will also have a dotted line relationship and accountability to the Environment, Sustainability & Planning leads within the Project.

Essential requirements: 
  • Tertiary qualifications in planning, environmental management, engineering or a related field
  • Sound knowledge and experience in the preparation of environmental assessments relating to the design, delivery and operations of major development or infrastructure projects
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of all approvals aspects of the Environment, Planning and Assessment Act (1979), the NSW planning system, other NSW environmental legislation and associated statutory processes
  • Government Experience would be ideal from either building or infrastructure projects
Role structure: 

This is a major project within Sydney Metro, it is initially a contract position for 12 months however the project itself goes for much longer. 

The role will be starting in late March.
