Environmental Planner - Rail / Infrastructure
Client-side rail organisation, supporting a number of major projects across NSW.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• To provide support to the corporate and project teams to assist with the delivery of effective environmental and sustainability policies, assessment of environmental impacts and compliance systems
• You will also work closely with project and design teams to identify and mitigate environmental challenges
• Monitor contractor performance (including investigating environmental complaints) and resolve issues within contractual and communication channels
• Work closely with other Project Environmental Advisors to ensure consistency across the programme and to apply lessons learnt to foster best practice

  
Requirements

• Tertiary qualifications in Planning or Environmental Science or a related discipline
• Experience in overseeing environmental impact assessments for major infrastructure projects in NSW
• Demonstrated experience in an environment and sustainability budget including reporting on environmental footprint
• Demonstrated experience in working with senior stakeholders on strategic planning and environmental matters essential to address for major infrastructure projects
• Demonstrated knowledge of relevant State (NSW) and Federal environmental legislation including project approval process
• Experience in implementing and managing an Environmental Management System
