Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000 + Super (Depending on Experience)

Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Drafting & 3D Modelling
- Create highly detailed 2D technical drawings and 3D models of commercial furniture including desks, cabinets, workstations, and custom joinery items.
- Develop parametric models using Pyther, ensuring optimal structure, material use, and manufacturability.
- Apply correct joinery methods, material specifications, hardware placement, and dimensions as per project and client requirements.
- Production-Ready Documentation
- Generate cut lists, material takeoffs, assembly drawings, and CNC-ready files.
- Ensure all documentation complies with internal manufacturing standards, Australian building codes, and client specifications.
- Collaborate with CNC programmers or directly export compatible files for automated production workflows.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with product designers, project managers, engineers, and production teams to interpret design intent and ensure manufacturability.
- Engage in design reviews and offer insights to improve cost-efficiency, ease of manufacturing, and overall product quality.
- Liaise with the workshop floor to resolve technical questions or adapt drawings to fit production constraints.
- Revision Management & Quality Assurance
- Update and revise drawings based on stakeholder feedback or design changes.
- Conduct self-checks and peer reviews to maintain quality control and accuracy across all documents and files.
- Software & File System Management
- Organize and maintain drawing files, models, and specifications within Pyther and other PLM systems.
- Stay current with Pyther updates, training opportunities, and industry best practices to continuously enhance workflow efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficient in Pyther (parametric CAD/CAM software for furniture design).
- Strong understanding of furniture construction methods, commercial joinery, and materials.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes including CNC routing, laminating, edge banding, and hardware integration.
- Ability to read and create technical drawings, shop drawings, and production documents with high accuracy.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to spot inconsistencies or inefficiencies in drawings before production.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred Experience & Background:
- Education or training in Industrial Design, Interior Architecture, Drafting, or Manufacturing Technology.
- Experience in designing custom or modular commercial furniture.
- Familiarity with other software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Cabinet Vision, or Microvellum.
- Prior experience working in a bespoke joinery or commercial fitout environment is highly desirable.
