The Company
Our client is a well-respected privately owned tier two builder who is turning over more than $600M and currently employs over 300 full time staff nationally. They operate across most commercial sectors and hold pre-qualifications for federal and state government projects valued up to $100M.
Their QLD operation has been operating for 10 years and they have an excellent name across the Queensland building market. In QLD they are known for delivering projects in the education, health and agecare sectors from a value of $1M to $50M. Their Brisbane office operate with around 70 staff.
The role – Design Manager
Due to a recent restructure in their Brisbane office where the previous Design Manager has moved into a different role internally, it has created a need to bring someone new into the business. You will be working closely with the Estimating team and anyone involved with Pre Construction and also the delivery team on their more complex D&C projects.
They are looking for someone who can hit the ground running but at the same time are not too set in their ways who can adapt to the way they do things.
Someone from a Tier 2 background will be the ideal fit for this role. Previous experience as a Design Manager with another builder is a must for this role.

Although this is not advertised as a ‘lead’ Design Manager role, you will be the only/main Design Manager in the Brisbane team and will seen as a key person in the Brisbane office. Also, a great chance to work for a builder who offer a real work/life balance.

- A completed construction degree
- A strong construction background
- Experience with a known builder as a Design Manager
- Stability on your CV with previous employers
- Education/agecare/health experience would be a huge advantage
- Able to lead from the front
- A team player
