About the company

State wide government agency looking after civil infrastructure projects and commuter experience across NSW.

Primary purpose of the role

The role is responsible for providing data, analysis, and reporting, as well as preparation of business cases and presentation packs that are useful in developing initiatives for service improvement, tracking key metrics and informing decision making across the business unit.   

This role is an initial 6 month contract to start ASAP working in the Macquarie Park area with option if WFH once acquainted with the role.

Key accountabilities
  • Put systems and processes in place to provide dashboard reporting to ensure performance indicators and targets can be accurately measured and monitored.
  • Interrogate information systems to establish information sources and provide nonstandard data extraction, modelling, and the development of high-quality custom reports.
  • Identify gaps in the availability of information across a variety of internal and third-party systems and participate in the development of strategies to solve the problem.
  • Lobby Group IT and other system/data providers on the need to have accurate and reliable information to improve business information and to plan future activities.
  • Assist with technological solutions to provide standard and easily accessible information for use in evaluating tracking the performance of services.
  • Assist with the development of business cases and improvement initiatives by providing and analysing information, including gap analysis, developing what if scenarios and preparing high quality presentation packs.
  • Develop and maintain quick reference guides, support materials, procedures, and electronic libraries/intranet of support materials for end users.
Key challenges
  • Providing timely, accurate and up to date information from a variety of databases, and systems.
  • Thinking through better and more useful ways to analyse available information to ensure that it is as useful as possible to business planning and operations.
Addressing issues of availability and reliability of information from a variety of sources.
