Consultant (Engineer)

Our client is a boutique consultancy and provider of specialist advisory, claims management, and dispute resolution services to the construction, built environment, and infrastructure industries.

You’ll be working with top-tier clientele, including leading developers, consultancies, institutions, and respected Tier 2 builders. Each engagement typically spans 8–12 weeks, giving you exposure to a wide range of high-profile projects.

Salary:$130,000 - $160,000 + super 

The Role

We are seeking an engineer with strong analytical skills and previous on-site construction experience who is looking to transition into a consulting lifestyle. In this role, you will apply your technical expertise to commercial advisory, construction claims, and be a resolution point for construction & costing disputes.
You will:

• Work alongside experienced consultants, delay analysts, and quantity surveyors on the preparation of claims
• Support the development of extensions of time, disruption claims, acceleration claims, and related matters
• Undertake forensic reviews of project records and site inspections
• Interpret drawings, specifications, construction methods, and procedures to identify claims opportunities
• Draft contractual correspondence and provide contract administration and commercial advice
• Collaborate with client project teams and legal professionals

Desired Skills & Attributes We are looking for a motivated problem solver with:

• An engineering degree and at least 3 years’ construction industry experience (site-based experience highly valued)
• Exposure to contracts and claims processes
• Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills with excellent attention to detail
• Competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
