You’ll act as a key liaison between the construction team and the community—managing issues, communicating project developments, and building positive, lasting relationships with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement community and stakeholder engagement plans
- Liaise with local residents, businesses, and community groups to provide timely project updates
- Provide communication advice and support to construction and project teams
- Draft clear and engaging community notifications, newsletters, social media posts, and formal correspondence
- Manage responses to public and stakeholder enquiries across multiple channels
- Coordinate stakeholder forums, pop-up sessions, site visits, and community meetings
- Maintain accurate records of engagement activities and input into project reporting
- Support project milestone communications and media opportunities
- Contribute to risk minimisation through inductions and toolbox presentations
- Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in communications, public relations, stakeholder engagement, or similar
- 3–5 years’ experience in a community or stakeholder relations role
- Prior experience in a construction or infrastructure environment is highly desirable
- Strong writing, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment
- Confident dealing with sensitive community issues and managing multiple priorities
