Job description

CGC Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a leading design and construct company specialising in the strategic planning, design, project management and construction of projects in the healthcare, commercial, and retail sectors. 
  • Based in North Sydney
  • Business of 29 people, 6-7 in Sydney and 3 currently in the finance team
  • Friday's are a company wide work from home day
  • Using Procore and Xero
  • $100-110k + Super based on experience 
The Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Accountant to join the finance team, contributing to the accurate financial management of the fitout and refirb projects. 
You will be confident and comfortable in a construction environment, with experience in a similar business in the construction or architecture industry.

Responsibilities:
  • Project Cost Analysis: Collaborate with project managers to track project costs, analyze budget vs. actual expenses, and ensure adherence to financial plans.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable
  • General Ledger Maintenance
  • Financial Reporting
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in creating project budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with project objectives and financial goals.
  • Payroll Processing
  • Tax Compliance
  • Auditing
  • Project Documentation
  • Financial Analysis
  • Process Improvement
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, providing financial insights to support decision-making and project success.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field in Australia 
  • Previous experience as an Accountant, preferably in the construction or architecture industries.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Procore and Xero preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Familiarity with construction accounting principles, project cost tracking, and financial reporting for civil infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project-related deadlines.
  • Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
  • Strong communication and confidence to liaise with people of all different backgrounds and personalities
