Senior Maintenance Fitter - 2IC to Maintenance Manager
Food Manufacturing Industry | $140K + Super | 38-Hour Week
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Maintenance Fitter to join a well-established and growing food manufacturing operation. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled tradesperson looking to step into a leadership role as Second-in-Charge (2IC) to the Maintenance Manager, playing a key part in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of a modern production facility.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Maintenance Manager in coordinating daily maintenance activities
- Act as 2IC, stepping into leadership responsibilities when required
- Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance on production equipment
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults efficiently to minimise downtime
- Assist in planning and scheduling maintenance work
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior fitters and maintenance staff
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to increase plant reliability and efficiency
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with food safety, quality, and safety standards
- Work collaboratively with production teams to optimise equipment performance
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III in Mechanical Fitting / Engineering - Mechanical Trade
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter in a manufacturing environment
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with preventative maintenance systems and plant equipment
- Ability to provide leadership and support to a maintenance team
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
- Previous experience within food or FMCG manufacturing
- Experience supporting or supervising maintenance teams
- Exposure to automated production equipment, conveyors, pumps, and packaging machinery
- $140,000 salary + superannuation
