Senior Quantity Surveyor - Civil Land Development (Procurement Focus)
$160-180k + Super | South of the River | Permanent Role
A leading civil contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of a procurement-focused QS function, supporting large-scale subdivision and land development projects.
In this role, you will lead a small team responsible for take-offs, measurements, and material quantification from construction drawings. Your work will directly inform procurement activities—ensuring accurate material pricing, timely ordering, and strong cost visibility across multiple civil packages.

In this role, you will lead a small team responsible for take-offs, measurements, and material quantification from construction drawings. Your work will directly inform procurement activities—ensuring accurate material pricing, timely ordering, and strong cost visibility across multiple civil packages.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a small team of Quantity Surveyors, allocating workloads and providing technical guidance
- Perform detailed take-offs and measurements for sewer, drainage/stormwater, roadworks, and broader civil infrastructure
- Support procurement by providing accurate material quantities to assist in pricing and order placement
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and scopes to ensure clarity and accuracy of quantities
- Liaise with internal teams to support project delivery planning
- Provide input into tenders where required (desirable)
- Background in civil construction, ideally within land development or subdivision projects
- Strong understanding of materials, scopes, and construction methodology related to civil infrastructure
- Demonstrated experience in take-offs, measurement, and material quantification
- Some exposure to tender processes (advantageous)
- Proven leadership or team-guiding experience
- Full Australian working rights essential
- Lead role within a stable, growing civil contractor
- South-of-the-river head office with long-term career pathway
- Competitive salary package: $160-180k + super
