A National Tier 2 civil contractor has recently secured a major water infrastructure project located approximately 50 minutes north of Brisbane. We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the team on an initial 6-month contract basis to lead the early phases of this significant pipeline project.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key leadership role on a high-profile water infrastructure project, with the potential to transition into a full-time position through to project completion.
The Role
As Senior Project Manager, you will have full accountability for the delivery of the project during the enabling and early construction phases. The role will focus on establishing strong project controls and ensuring the project is positioned for successful long-term delivery.
Key responsibilities will include:
The project involves the delivery of a major water pipeline installation utilising Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) methods and HDPE pipeline systems. The scope includes substantial enabling works, temporary works, earthworks, and associated infrastructure required to support the pipeline installation.
The site is located approximately 50 minutes north of Brisbane CBD, making it easily commutable from both Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.

- Review, negotiation, and administration of subcontracts and procurement packages
- Oversight of early construction and enabling works
- Managing delivery of Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) pipeline installation
- Coordination of works including:
- Temporary works
- Earthworks
- HDPE pipeline installation
- Minor structural elements
- Ensuring compliance with program, budget, safety, and quality requirements
- Managing relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal project teams

About You
We are seeking experienced infrastructure professionals who bring strong leadership capability and a proven background in pipeline delivery.
You will ideally have:
- 15+ years' experience delivering major civil infrastructure projects
- Proven track record in water and sewer pipeline projects
- Strong experience working with HDPE pipelines
- Experience managing or overseeing HDD pipeline installations
- Demonstrated ability managing projects through design, procurement, and early construction
- Strong commercial and subcontract management capability
- Excellent stakeholder and client management skills
- Above-market contract day rate
- Opportunity to lead the early phases of a major water infrastructure project
- Work with a well-regarded National Tier 2 contractor
- Initial 6-month contract with a strong opportunity to convert to full-time employment through project completion
