We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join a major project in regional NSW on a 3-month contract, commencing ASAP. This role will play a critical part in managing and closing out defects in collaboration with the head contractor, ensuring high-quality delivery and compliance with project standards.
About the Role Reporting to the Project Manager, you will take ownership of the defects management process, working closely with the main contractor and key stakeholders to drive timely resolution and project completion.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the defects identification, tracking, and close-out process
- Liaise directly with the main contract builder to ensure accountability and timely rectification
- Coordinate inspections, audits, and quality assurance activities
- Review and verify completed works against specifications and standards
- Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and defect registers
- Work collaboratively with site teams, consultants, and subcontractors
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and contractual requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Project Engineer on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
- Strong background in defects management, quality assurance, and project close-out
- Experience working with tier 1 or tier 2 builders highly regarded
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced site environment
- Relevant engineering or construction-related qualifications
- Immediate start on a high-profile regional NSW project
