CGC Recruitment is a specialist recruiter in the construction, engineering, property and design space.
The Company
This business is headed up by a passionate director who comes from Project Management background and successfully set up the business 6 years ago. The company offer design and construction services to a list of repeat clients delivering modern workplace solutions to the commercial sector and new build hospitality, and commercial projects valued up to $10m.
Duties:
• Experience in all aspects of project accounting ranging from claims management,construction accounting to hands on accounts payable
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an accounting role, ideally within the construction industry
• Strong attention to detail
• Be focused on system improvement and driven by process efficiency
• Able to work with various internal and external stakeholders
• Be motivated and possess a strong work ethic
• Be a team player with strong communication skills
• Able to work to deadlines and within a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting
• Microsoft suite of applications, especially Excel
• CA/CPA qualified.
Highly desirable, but not essential:
• Xero accounting software
• Procore/Project management software
• Employment Hero software
• Note, experience using Jobpac or Timberline would be highly regarded

- Project claim management (mid-month and end of month)
- Client invoicing and debt collection
- Coordinating daily cash flow forecast
- Checking and approving batch payments
- Daily bank reconciliation
- Treasury Management including bank guarantee/cheque issue and collection
- Project WIP Summary
- Month-end Journals – overhead accruals and prepayment
- Attend and contribute to project specific Cost Reporting sessions
- Weekly and monthly payroll processing
- Weekly processing of employee expense claims
- Maintaining up to date employee records and financial information
- Attend and contribute to Monthly Board Meetings
