Project Engineer - Fit Out & Finishing Works (Contract)
Brisbane CBD | 6-Month Contract | Above-Market Daily Rate
CGC Recruitment are partnering with a leading Tier 1 national contractor to source an experienced Project Engineer to oversee the final stages of delivery on a major Brisbane CBD-based construction project.
This is a 6-month contract position, ideal for a high-performing "gun-for-hire" Project Engineer who thrives in fast-paced delivery environments and has strong, hands-on experience across fit out and finishing works on large-scale building projects. The project is scheduled to run through to mid-year, with an above-market daily rate on offer.

The Role
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day project engineering functions across a pure fit-out and finishing scope, including:
- Management and coordination of fit-out and finishing trades
- Oversight of cladding, M&E services, waterproofing, and associated subcontractors
- Program tracking and short-term look-ahead planning
- QA documentation, inspections, and defect management
- Subcontractor coordination, progress claims, and variations
- Interface management between trades to ensure seamless completion
- Supporting commissioning, handover, and practical completion activities
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer on major building projects
- Strong fit-out and finishing works experience (essential)
- Exposure to Tier 1 or large Tier 2 contractors
- Solid understanding of services coordination and finishing trades
- Ability to step into a project late-stage and add immediate value
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Availability to commit to a 6-month contract
- Above-market daily rate
