Job description
My client is currently building a team to support the manufacturing activities on a major rail programme of works.
They are seeking a production supervisor, production technicians and production assemblers.

For the supervisor role, we are looking for someone with who will
- Facilitate co-ordinated activity between Production Manager and Production Staff
- Carry out work as directed by the Production Manager
- Direct Production Staff
- Interpret plans, drawings and job set out
- Complete ART work orders in an accurate and timely fashion
- Manage the overall function of the production technicians and take responsibility for the build area and nearby area presentation.
- As required provide repair, prototyping and engineering assistance.
- Receive, inspect and store products and materials
- Notify Production Manager of non-conformances and incidents
- Conduct or coordinate inspections and tests
- Identify and report safety and environmental risks, hazards and incidents
- Take responsibility for the first interaction with technicians.
- Look after all technicians requirements where practical including stationery, daily consumables and the like.
- Lead and/or participate in regular review, audit and report to the Production Manager improvement initiatives of all aspects of your business unit.
- Take on casual tasks and jobs as assigned time to time eg: office refurbishment or building maintenance etc.
You will need;
- Significant experience and qualifications in mechanical and/or electrical and/or electronics manufacture and assembly
- Knowledge and understanding of technical information and drawings
- Ability to manage staff and assume responsibility for workshop activity
- Previous rail experience would be highly advantageous

- Ensure clean and tidy workshop

- Check and maintain equipment, plant and tools
- Identify and report equipment, plant and tools deficiencies and malfunctions
