Operations Manager - Civil Infrastructure (Defence & MRWA)

Location: Perth Metro (offices located north of the river, with ad-hoc site visits required)
Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Start: ASAP (willing to wait for the right candidate)

About the Role

We're seeking an accomplished Operations Manager to lead the delivery of major Defence and Infrastructure projects across Western Australia. This pivotal position will oversee multiple large-scale construction programs, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes that align with client expectations and business objectives.

You'll provide strategic leadership across project teams, driving operational performance, fostering a culture of excellence, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex, high-value projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations across multiple civil and infrastructure projects, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Lead and mentor multidisciplinary project teams, promoting accountability, safety, and professional growth.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies that drive productivity, efficiency, and quality outcomes.
  • Monitor project performance, identifying risks, opportunities, and improvements.
  • Maintain compliance with all HSE, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Build and sustain strong client and stakeholder relationships (Defence and MRWA focus).
  • Contribute to tendering and business development through operational insight.
  • Manage workforce planning, resource allocation, and mobilisation across projects.
  • Champion innovation, continuous improvement, and best practice operations.
About You
  • 15+ years' experience in senior leadership within operations or project delivery.
  • 7+ years' on-site experience delivering major civil infrastructure or Defence projects.
  • Strong technical understanding of civil construction scopes.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale portfolios ($100M-$200M).
  • Experience engaging with clients such as Main Roads WA or the Department of Defence.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain NV1 Defence Security Clearance (essential for Defence projects).
  • Full Australian working rights required.
