Job Title: Maintenance Engineer - Rail Rolling Stock
Contract Type: 18-Month Contract
Location: Auburn or Clyde (Hybrid Working Opportunity)
Daily Rate: $850 - $978 + Super

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer with experience in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) to join our team. This role focuses on the maintenance and reliability of Sydney Trains assets, with an emphasis on ensuring safe operation and maximum equipment availability.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct technical investigations, analyze statistics, and trends to support the review and update of the Major Periodic Maintenance Plan, Technical Maintenance Plan (TMP), and Refurbishment Plans for Sydney Trains assets.
  2. Develop, monitor, and update procedures, standards, and service schedules for the servicing, repair, and maintenance of Sydney Trains assets.
  3. Develop and implement RCM programs and TMPs to increase safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Review and update the hazard register/risk management system (FMECA/RCM database).
  4. Provide technical advice and support to Maintenance Centre staff and other clients, ensuring maintenance decisions are based on sound technical information.
  5. Liaise with subject matter experts across various disciplines to ensure consistent application and compliance with standards throughout Sydney Trains.
  6. Conduct testing and condition assessments of equipment to ensure compliance with engineering standards and understand equipment degradation rates.
  7. Research maintenance systems engineering technology to maintain professional advisory capabilities.
  8. Assist in preparing data changes related to TMP implementations and the Auburn Heavy Maintenance project transition.
Requirements:
  • Experience with TPM and RCM methodologies.
  • Mechanical or Electrical engineering background is desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
