Safety Advisor - Water Infrastructure Project | Sydney
One of our key clients, a respected Tier 1 civil contractor, has recently secured a significant water pipeline infrastructure project valued at over $200M in the North West Sydney region. With a commitment to safety and operational excellence, they are now seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to join the team and play a key role in the safe and successful delivery of this critical project.
The Project:
This major pipeline project involves complex excavation, trenching, environmental controls, and stakeholder engagement—making safety a top priority from day one.
Location: Sydney Metro (site-based role)
Project Type: Major Water Pipeline - Civil Infrastructure
The Role:
Reporting directly to the Project Manager and HSEQ Manager, you'll be responsible for providing proactive WHS support to ensure the site meets and exceeds legislative and company standards. Responsibilities include:
You are an experienced construction safety professional with:
✔️ Cert IV or Diploma in WHS
✔️ Previous site-based safety experience on large-scale infrastructure or water utility projects
✔️ Familiarity with NSW WHS regulations and environmental requirements
✔️ Strong stakeholder communication and influencing skills
✔️ A proactive, boots-on-the-ground approach to safety
✔️ Drivers licence and right to work in Australia

- Conducting daily and weekly inspections, audits, and toolbox talks
- Leading incident investigations and risk mitigation strategies
- Delivering site inductions and WHS training sessions
- Ensuring ongoing compliance with NSW WHS regulations and codes of practice
- Supporting the project team in embedding a strong safety-first culture across all phases of construction
You are an experienced construction safety professional with:
