Job description
We are looking for a Government Services Admin Support Officer to join our client, an NSW State government agency, on a contractual basis.
The Government Information Services (GIS), Administrative Support Officer is responsible for the provision of high level administrative and clerical support, including undertaking administrative processes, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, carrying out investigations and research in collaboration with internal subject matter experts to respond to customer information requests and support the effective operation of the Communication and Government Information Unit.
Key accountabilities
- Pay rate:$51.19 per hour + Super
- Location: Parkes and Working from home
- 12 month contract opportunity with NSW State Government
- 7 hours per day, 35 hours per week.
The Government Information Services (GIS), Administrative Support Officer is responsible for the provision of high level administrative and clerical support, including undertaking administrative processes, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, carrying out investigations and research in collaboration with internal subject matter experts to respond to customer information requests and support the effective operation of the Communication and Government Information Unit.
Key accountabilities
- Assist with the coordination and collation of information in the Region to ensure that input into Ministerial data packs, briefings, and correspondence is complete, accurate and timely.
- Undertake research and analysis, conduct investigations and fact check when drafting information packages and other communications products, ensuring information is in line with quality and organisational requirements, to support Branch information flow and inform decision making.
- • Provide quality and efficient administrative support services, prioritising requests and initiating action, exercising discretion and maintaining confidentiality to enable the most effective use of time
and resources.
• Maintaining consistency across the administrative function and working collaboratively with relevant business areas and external stakeholders to ensure that required information is provided in a timely manner.
• Create, update and maintain files, records and databases, comply with records management systems and processes, ensuring that all information is accurate, trackable, stored correctly and accessible across the Branch and Region.
• Provide word processing and document formatting support using appropriate technology and available software for the preparation of documentation for members of the team ensuring documents meet relevant standards and are completed in specified.
• Maintain and regularly review administration, record and information systems, processes and procedures to identify areas for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness and make recommendations
for improvement
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated, relevant, equivalent professional experience.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft packages
