Job description

We are looking for Project Officer  to join our client, an NSW State government agency, on a contractual basis.
  • 12 month contract opportunity with NSW State Government
  • Location: Parramatta/ Working From home
  • Pay Rate: $46 -$49 per hour + super
Primary purpose of the role:
The Design Project Officer provides coordination and support for engagement activities and undertakes a range of project research, analysis, reporting, implementation and administrative activities to support the development and delivery of projects, in line with established project plans and objectives for the Centre for Design.

Key accountabilities:
• Provide project and operational support, including event coordination, monitoring and reporting on project plans, milestones and deliverables, to ensure time, cost and quality indicators are in line with approved project plans
• Update and collate documentation and records regarding relevant issues, policies and practices to ensure the delivery of projects complies with agreed project management methodology
• Undertake basic research and analysis in assigned project areas and contribute to the preparation of project briefs to support informed decision making and planning
• Assist the project team to complete tasks and implement project plans to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved
• Communicate with relevant stakeholders to provide updates regarding project status and implementation issues
• Provide a range of secretariat and administrative services, including coordinating committee meetings and preparing papers, to support project management delivery
Key challenges
• Delivering multiple project support activities in line with agreed standards and objectives, given tight deadlines and competing demands and priorities
• Working within a small organisation currently undergoing significant change and continuing to manage and meet expectations of a broad and diverse range of stakeholders.

Key skills and experience to be successful:
  • Balance and deliver multiple administrative and clerical support activities and services in line with agreed standards, timeframes and milestones, given tight timeframes and the need to maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Exercise discretion and maintaining confidentiality in handling critical and sensitive information.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft packages 
  • Australian working rights 
  • MUST BE DOUBLE VACCINATED
Core skills: Financial administration skillset is essential; good writing and comprehension skills; digitally adept; good verbal communication skills (able to liaise with external stakeholders on occasion); coordination of meetings, calendars, mailboxes and other general administration duties.

Experience:
Government experience is helpful; design or construction related project experience or in planning is useful but not required; TAFE or tertiary training in business administration or similar required.
