Job description
As a Communications PE, you will assist with the overall design phase and installation of all communications sub-systems including, the communication network, Passenger Information Systems, on-board equipment, train detection system and traffic regulation interfaces for the Project.
You will assist in ensuring the design is completed in a timely and cost-effective manner, as well as support construction activities, ensuring it is done in a timely and cost-effective manner according to the design and the local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of communications designs, reports and conceptual designs;
- Participating in design reviews;
- Provide technical assessment and guidance to the Communication and Signalling design team;
- Provide technical assessment and guidance to the construction team;
- Assist with managing the construction tasks for Communications activities;
- Ensure that the requirements of system engineering, safety, competency and quality assurance are being achieved for Communications scope;
- Assist in preparing reports and presentations with statistical data related to the status of the Project in a timely basis, as requested;
- Liaise with the sub-contractors for Communications scope;
- Provide technical assessment and presentations to support claims, variations, or any other dispute;
- Recognised engineering degree in relevant discipline;
- Proven work experience (5 years minimum) in Communications and Signalling scope in railway projects;
- Experience planning and implementing system engineering programs for communication networks, train control and railway signalling systems;
- Experience in preparing proposals and submissions to provide Clients with desired functionality from concept, through the planning process to implementation;
- Experience leading all systems engineering activities for communications sub-systems in compliance with the Client’s requirements;
- Experience in reviewing product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications;
- Experience with office management software like MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word, specifically);
- Strong organization skills with a problem-solving attitude;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
- Knowledge of BIM methodologies is desirable.
