Job description

My client is acknowledged as a leader in their industry and is an organisation that attracts and retains their staff. They currently have numerous projects happening on location and are in the process of adding to what is already considered as a progressive and industry leading team.  


They are looking to appoint a Commercial Project Manager who will support the Senior Commercial Manager on the development of commercial projects to ensure deliverable and desired outcomes are met within set budget, timeframes and milestones. 

 
ACCOUNTABILITIES / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop commercial project plans to schedule key project milestones, workstreams and activities.
  • Support the procurement and management of external technical consultants in the design, costing and financial modelling phase to inform the business case.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure deliverables and desired outcomes are met within set budgets, timeframes, and milestones.
  • Collate cross-functional inputs, facilitate workshops, translate outputs through draft and final stages, and assist in the preparation of briefing and board papers.
  • Prepare and facilitate regular Project Control Group meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Complete all necessary administration, co-ordination, and management functions to support the commercial phase of projects.
  • Regularly engage with the Project Managers for each project and assist from a commercial perspective as requested.
  • Track and report project progress and status.
  • Following project delivery, assist in the post investment review of the project as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field eg. Project Management, Commercial or Finance discipline.
  • Substantial experience (5 years +) in a similar role preferably on infrastructure and/or industrial projects.
  • Broad understanding of technical areas relevant to infrastructure projects and an ability to incorporate cross-functional input into project plans.
  • Track record of successfully managing projects through the commercial phase.
  • An execution orientated mind-set with a strong passion for business improvement.
  • Highly effective communication skills (oral & written) including the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
  • Experience in the infrastructure, transport or logistics sector is desirable but not essential.
  • Drivers licence and car.
The role requires a driven individual that can handle the pressures of project timeliness, in addition to this you will have the support of a manager who is highly regarded.
