The Role
On a day to day basis your role will focus on sub-contract management, contract management and commercial management. Within these three areas you will assess claims, negotiate variations, report forecasts, assess tenders, prepare cost plans and assist with estimating and auditing.
You will report directly to the project manager and will play a key role in the successful delivery of commercial aspects of the business unit.
Skills and Experience
Working for a major tier 2 civil contractor this opportunity has been created for an experienced Commercial Manager to join this project team.
On a day to day basis your role will focus on sub-contract management, contract management and commercial management. Within these three areas you will assess claims, negotiate variations, report forecasts, assess tenders, prepare cost plans and assist with estimating and auditing.
You will report directly to the project manager and will play a key role in the successful delivery of commercial aspects of the business unit.
Due to the location of the project this will be living on site during the working week and LAFA will be provided.
However you will need to get your own accommodation as it is a 2 hour drive from Melbourne Metro area.
Initially this role is for 6-12 months due to joining the project at the enabling stages as they projects gets set up to get put in the ground.
For the right candidate there could be future extended or permanent opportunity.
Skills and Experience
- A bachelor in Civil Engineering or Equivalent
- Previous experience working on $50m plus projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong experience delivering high quality projects
- A sound knowledge of contractual requirements
