The company

Our client is a state-wide Government agency within the Transport sector who operate across Sydney and NSW. They work supporting road maintenance and construction projects.

Job Details:

  • The management and supervision of a construction site in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
  • Provide surveillance of contract works for the Snowball Stage 3 pavement rehabilitation project on the Hume Highway Southbound Carriageway near Tumblong in the Gundagai area.
  • The works totalling an estimated 12,000 tonnes of asphalt are located within Segment 1660 and the total length of work is 1800m. Rehabilitation works start from the Jessops Lagoon Rd intersection and finish at the Big Ben Creek Rest Area, on Hume Highway south of the Gundagai area.
This is a initial 4 month role with view of an extension, ute will be provided.

Working hours:
  • Monday to Saturday 6 am to 11 pm
  • No work on Sundays or Public Holidays.
  
Brief Scope of work to be undertaken by the SO
  • Surveillance of asphalt pavement rehabilitation work to ensure compliance with TfNSW QA specifications R101, R111, R116, R119, R121, R126 and conditions of contract
  • Surveillance and auditing of asphalt milling, supply and laying as per TfNSW specification including:
  • Conformity with the approved mix design
  • Sampling and testing of asphalt specimens
  • Milling and paving as per the approved pavement design
  • Other testing as required
  • Completion of Daily Quantity Agreement Sheets with Contractor
  • Submission of daily surveillance report with photographs and project up-to-date details
  • Entry of Daily Accomplishment records on TfNSW Asset Vision Maintenance Management System
  • Monitor contractor compliance with respect to:
  • Traffic Guidance Scheme and Worker on Foot plans
  • Road Occupancy Licence (ROL) conditions
  • Heavy vehicle Chain of Responsibility (CoR)
  • WHS
  • Issue NPSN/NCR against Contractor in accordance with RM and Contractor QA Systems
  • Progress reporting to Project Delivery Manager as required
  • Follow-up with Lot summary reports and check compliances
  • Surveillance on other minor works within the project area as needed (eg: safety barrier installation, line marking, etc.)
