Are you a dynamic, results-driven manufacturing leader with a passion for food safety, operational excellence, and team development? We are seeking a highly capable Manufacturing Site Leader to oversee our WA production and distribution operations. This role is pivotal in driving safety, quality, financial performance, and employee engagement across multiple departments.
 
You will lead a dedicated team managing  a premises in the Wheatbelt covering world-class standards in manufacturing, food safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
 
Key Responsibilities
  1. People & Safety Leadership
Lead and manage all aspects of Human Resources for operational staff.
 
Drive a safety-first culture across the site in alignment with OH&S and WA legislative requirements.
 
Champion food safety and site hygiene in accordance with internal and external standards.
 
Ensure effective workforce planning and cross-departmental resourcing.
 
Foster team engagement through coaching, counselling, and recognition initiatives.
 
Manage industrial relations, including union negotiations, award interpretation, and dispute resolution.
 
Oversee performance development, training, and succession planning for all site HODs and their teams.
 
Coordinate workers' compensation claims and rehabilitation processes.
 
Lead site-driven community support initiatives such as donation drives.
 
  1. Quality Assurance & HACCP Program
Lead the QA and HACCP teams to maintain top-tier quality standards.
 
Oversee BRC audits, SOP compliance, and GMP adherence.
 
Partner with the Quality Manager to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues promptly.
 
Ensure all products meet food safety and legal requirements.
 
Collaborate with consultants and auditors as needed to maintain compliance.
 
  1. Financial Stewardship
Support financial partners in managing site budgets including Repairs & Maintenance, Operations, and Distribution.
 
Monitor inventory levels and ensure financial accuracy during stocktakes.
 
Drive cost-saving initiatives and business improvement projects.
 
Prepare and review capital expenditure business cases.
 
  1. Milling & Packing Operations
Lead daily production performance including OEE reporting and weekly national reports.
 
Provide technical support and strategic direction to department heads.
 
Ensure GMP compliance across milling and packing facilities.
 
Drive operational planning and talent development across production.
 
  1. Warehouse & Distribution Oversight
Oversee inbound/outbound logistics for both sites.
 
Ensure inventory accuracy, dispatch efficiency, and compliance with SOPs.
 
Negotiate transport pricing and liaise with 3PL providers.
 
Ensure timely delivery of product to customers and between sites.
 
  1. Leadership, Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Represent the site in key national meetings with Operations, Finance, Commercial, and Quality teams.
 
Chair regular leadership and site-wide meetings to drive alignment and accountability.
 
Maintain regular communication with logistics and customer teams to ensure seamless supply.
 
Conduct quarterly visits to key customer sites to strengthen partnerships.
 
Lead strategic reviews and CI meetings to shape long-term business success.
 
What You Bring
Proven experience in a senior operational leadership role within FMCG or food manufacturing.
 
Strong knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, BRC), OH&S, and HR best practices.
 
Exceptional people leadership, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
 
Solid commercial acumen and experience managing operational budgets.
 
Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
 
Experience engaging with external stakeholders, including unions, transport providers, and customers.
