The Role / Person

A new Senior Design Manager position has been created to help achieve the strategic direction of their NSW Defence division which is in line with the Defence investment over the next 5 years. As the Senior Design manager, you'll work closely with the Project Director on "Managing Contractor" Bids working through the planning Phase though to delivery.
Your ability to work closely with the client (Defence) understanding their requirements, how the facilities / bases run and how you are going to incorporate full project life cycle into the build and methodology will be fundamental. You will also need to demonstrate your ability to manage the design through the planning phase understanding the manner of the process.
You'll be a team leader who is not only passionate about developing successful bids & client relationships you’ll understand the end user requirements & ensuring “fit for purpose” which is fundamental across their client portfolio.

You will also need:

You’ll come from a Tier 1/Tier 2 builder.
Managing Contractor - Planning Phase Experience.
Ability to deal with the pressure and delegate work appropriately.
Confident at managing client expectations and deadlines.
Ability to work in a small high performing team.
Be a team player & leader with strong emotional intelligence.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with people from all walks of life.
