Reporting into the NSW General Manager and MD you will be responsible for overseeing 2-3 projects (with full teams) whilst running your own project. You will be joining another Construction Manager and oversee projects valued from $10M - $40M within the educational and hospitality space. The Sydney office will typically run between 8-10 projects concurrently.
You will have full responsibility for procurement, methodology, programming, budgeting, project reporting and being the go-to person to resolve any issues on site with clients and subbies as required. This role will sit in the senior leadership team and initially and be hands on in project delivery.
You must also be able to demonstrate your experience in:
- Delivery of construct only and design and construct private educational and hospitality projects valued to $40M
- Leading and managing teams of construction professionals including mentoring, training and performance management;
- Stakeholder management with a focus on maintaining and building relationships
- Thorough understanding of building methodologies and current industry best practice;
- Experience using Procore, MS project, Cheops and Hammertech
- Understanding of current QHSE Act and Legislation
- Monthly commercial reporting, progress claims and variations
- Negotiation and dispute resolution skills
Background / Skillset
- Hold a tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Project Management, or Civil Engineering
- Proven experience as a Project Manager or Project Director within tier one or two construction companies, with a track record of successfully leading multiple projects and teams simultaneously
- Strong understanding of corporate values, policies, and procedures, with a commitment to upholding organisational standards
- Highly commercially astute, with well-developed relationship management, negotiation, and influencing skills
