About the role:
You will:
  • Develop, manage and deliver services to clients using advanced and efficient systems engineering and assurance practice, particularly in the rail industry
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship and advice to other engineers in the company and to client staff
  • Be involved in developing safety assurance and reliability engineering strategies, plans and analysis in order to ensure safe and reliable operations and meet regulatory requirements
  • Perform, review or assess hazard analysis, stakeholder workshops, safety case development, hazard log management, risk management, reliability modelling and prediction, requirements analysis, auditing, software assurance, verification and validation activities
  • Develop and deliver training courses in system and functional safety and/or RAM
  • Support business development and marketing activities
Desirable skills and experience:
  • Degree educated in a relevant Engineering field or related discipline
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of systems, safety and reliability engineering and assurance processes and standards
  • Demonstrated ability in formulating solutions or resolving complex problems and issues
  • Experience in any of the following:
    • The development of Safety and Assurance Cases, and the Goal Structured Notation
    • The ASCE (Assurance and Safety Case Environment) software
    • Use of reliability engineering techniques and software
    • Hazard Analysis and risk assessment techniques and tools
    • Systems engineering methodologies and tools
    • Development and delivery of system safety or RAM training
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communications skills
  • Rail project experience
  • Commercial acumen and previous experience in consultant organisations.
