Job description
Key Accountabilities

- Establish and maintain Survey Control systems, processes and procedures
- Establish, maintain & develop Survey Standards, Survey procedures and systems to manage survey data and derived data
- Establish and maintain Survey requirements, competencies, specifications and service agreements
- Manage and develop the survey systems, remote monitoring systems, GNSS application, GIS applications in engineering and asset management and use of associated technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery
- Advise on Engineering Authority Delegation for Survey Technical streams and external parties interfacing
- Assist in undertaking technical compliance audits of survey related procedures and tasks
- Provide input into work processes and asset systems to optimise safety and efficiency
- Provide technical guidance for staff dealing with survey issues
- Seek to employ engineering controls to eliminate/control engineering risk
- Tertiary qualification in Surveying and Registered as a Land Surveyor in NSW with Board of Survey & Spatial Information
- Minimum 10 years previous survey and survey management experience in a similar role

- Bachelor Degree in Surveying
- Demonstrated competency in managing survey teams and functions, application of Surveying and other spatial and GIS technology in infrastructure projects.
- Level Crossings
- Computer proficient in survey software, GNSS and Spatial capture and analysis tools, visualisation software and knowledge of GIS and applications to engineering and infrastructure projects.
- Experience in managing railway data sets including track curvature and level crossings
- Ability to establish and or manage; Survey control; Survey Procedures, Survey Contractors, Engineering Authority in Survey.
- Provide expert technical advice to the business in regard to surveying and spatial requirements.
- Undertake design reviews of railway track designs
- Ability to undertake surveys on Land titles in New South Wales as defined by the Surveying and Spatial Information Act 2002
