CGC Recruitment have partnered with a major contractor who focus on Civil, Mechanical, Structural and Piping Installation services nationally across Australia. The operate in areas such as Civil Construction, Mining & Resources and Marine and Port Sectors. They have a proven track record of delivering complex engineering projects and have recently identified a need for a Lead Project Engineer to join the business on a permanent basis to assist in the delivery of a recently awarded Heavy Engineering project. 
 
This role will be responsible for the management of project field engineering team and manages the interface with fabrication, procurement and construction to support project completion in accordance with time and cost constraints.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage and provide guidance to Project Engineers, Junior Engineers and Graduate Engineers
• Ensure team members rosters are level out to ensure adequate project coverage
• Reviews Scope of Work (SOW) documents and ensures project specifications and code requirements are covered within the SOW;
• Provides technical support during all project phases to ensure that project designs meet operational requirements, specified engineering standards, quality standards and time and profit objectives for the Project.  
• Assessment of risks and hazards involved in tasks, and methods to manage the hazards in order to prevent incidents, injury and damage
• Liaise with client representatives regarding technical queries, inspections, project scheduling and coordinating deliveries
• Attend regular progress meetings with both internal and external project stakeholders
• Attend operations meetings 
• Provide accurate daily, weekly and monthly status reports as directed
• Maintain project files
• Monitor and review design changes to assess the effect on project budget and schedule
• Assist in the preparation of progress claims and variations
• Preparation of work schedules
• Assists with the compilation of construction work packs and test packs in accordance with Project requirements
• Prepares, with the Quality Lead, all Inspection and Test Plans and associated project-specific procedures
• Ensures quality records are progressively completed and signed off in accordance with the schedule 
• Perform other general duties that may be necessary to suit operational requirements as directed

 
About You

• Relevant Engineering Degree 
• Previous demonstrated experience leading/managing onsite Engineering teams
• Previous experience working on Heavy Construction SMP Projects
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills
• Effective negotiation skills

 
The role will be based in WA and as of the current regulations with state border restrictions we are urgently seeking applications for Lead level Engineer who have an interest in relocating on a permanent basis to join the latest boom period in WA!
