About the Role 
 
  • Design and deliver engineering inspections, plans, calculations, cost estimates, risk assessments, specifications and contract documentation for maintenance and port development works to ensure the safety and reliability of the assets.
  • Identify, investigate and evaluate development and maintenance opportunities and make recommendations to management to ensure fit-for-purpose, safe, reliable and whole-of-life cost efficient NSW Ports' assets that responds to the maritime and logistics industry requirements.
  • Manage the “whole of life” cycle of assets including the design, construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance, repairs, modification, replacements, decommissioning and disposal of physical infrastructure assets.
  • Prepare asset management reporting for various stakeholders and ensure they are captured in asset management system.
  • Provide innovation and optioneering to ensure infrastructure assets deliver increased efficiency and utilisation, review the outcomes of projects to ensure objectives have been achieved and manage handover of project at completion to the asset manager.
  • Develop and continually improve the NSW Ports Strategic Asset Management Plan and system.
  • Work with the Infrastructure GM to represent NSW Ports at industry events, seminars and conferences as required.
  • Manage the performance of 2 Asset Management Engineers.
 
Skills and Experience
 
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline with extensive experience in civil engineering projects including design and construction.
  • Extensive experience in project management in multidiscipline civil infrastructure projects and a strong ability to use computer applications for effective project management.
  • Significant experience in asset management principles and methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of occupational health and safety requirements, standards, practices, and procedures.
  • Effective relationship building and internal/external stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen supported by sound commercial judgement with well-developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, initiative, positive attitude, flexibility and a strong sense of teamwork.
