Back to Blogs

We’d like to start the newsletter by wishing a happy new year to all our clients, candidates and partnering organisations. We hope you all had a fantastic break and you are looking forward to a prosperous 2013 as much as we are.

Despite some challenging conditions in certain areas of the economy, construction and engineering sector as a whole we are still experiencing a high demand for our boutique services, and due to the continued demand and growth of our business we are delighted to announce two new signings to the CGC squad for the January transfer window!

Dan will be specialising in OH&S, QA and Environmental roles across: Building, Civil and Rail sectors. If you are a HSEQ and/or QA professional please get in touch with Dan via LinkedIn or e-mail: daniel.kundi@cgcrecruitment.com to discuss new opportunities in the market or roles which you are looking to fill.

David Kavanagh – Power & Energy – Permanent & Contract Roles

For the employment market as a whole the November 2012  figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics key points included unemployment rates remaining steady at 5.2% which is a decrease of 0.1% and aggregate monthly hours also increase. The figures reported for January & February 2013 will give us a clearer indication on the sentiment of the marketplace as the figures leading into Christmas can be influenced by seasonal changes.

There is every reason to have a positive outlook for 2013 with a number of major projects expected to commence key stages where high labour levels will be required, this should therefore have a positive affect for the demand for construction and engineering professionals Australia wide. The projects include: Barangaroo (Sydney), Convention Centre (Sydney), VCCC (Melbourne), NRAH(Adelaide), New Children’s Hospital and Midland Hospital (both Perth), Hunter Alliance (Regional NSW), Strathfield Underpass (Sydney) & North West Rail Link (Sydney).

If you are interested in finding out more about current opportunities on these or similar projects then please contact one of our team who will be able to assist.

All the best for 2013 and we are looking forward to another great year.

P.S
Over the festive period James Grantham married his Fiancé Gill Hall in a lovely ceremony at  www.allertoncastle.co.uk. Congratulations! (See picture, below)
