SEPTEMBER 2012 NEWSLETTER

Back to Blogs

This month’s round up at CGC Recruitment focuses on a number of field activities taking place within the team.

After exceeding budget for the financial year 2011/12 the team at CGC Recruitment headed off to the sunny Gold Coast for a weekend of work and play.

Setting off early on Thursday morning the team arrived at the Q1 resort and spa, before checking into the fantastic apartments (see pictures below).

Once the team were fed and watered an excellent business planning session ensued for the afternoon with a full review of the company’s performance last year and setting out the goals and objectives for the CGC in 2012/13. Some fantastic ideas came out of the session giving the team and individuals lots to implement over the coming months.

As we headed into the evening the team made the short trip to Broadbeach for a meal at Moo Moo Restaurant. The team devoured some excellent steaks, red wine and unsurprisingly the wild rocket and pear salad was left relatively untouched!

After enjoying drinks in Broadbeach and a brief encounter with the head of the local bikey gang the team decided to make their way back into the heart of surfers where we found a home at the infamous Melba’s on the Park. From there the team moved upstairs to the Corona Club where we made a good effort and gaining lifetime membership to Corona by the number of rounds being ordered….

It was an early start by some on Friday, including the use of the spa facilities at the Q1 whereas others just said ‘no thank you’ and enjoyed the lie in.

From there we made the trip out to Emerald Lakes Golf Club, where the CGC opens were battled out. With Evan Morgan’s winning the closest to the pin competition, the tournament went down to the final hole with the pairing of Cox and Curtis taking the honours ahead of Grantham and Hope after the latter imploded on the last hole.

The team retreated to the 19th hole and shared war stories over a nice lunch on the terrace and soaked up the Queensland sunshine for a few hours. With a quick turnaround back at Q1 we then headed back out for another night of surfers fun and set up base camp in Omalleys, and proceeded to enjoy the multiple sporting events on offer, as well as the drinks and pool table. A more sombre but enjoyable evening was had by all with the previous night and the day at the golf clearly taking its toll on the team.

Saturday morning again included use of the spa for some before breakfast and a flight back to Sydney. With the business targeted strong growth figures for 2012/13 we are looking for new consultants to join our team. If you would like to discuss opportunities at CGC Recruitment and be part of next year’s trip (location TBC) then please contact David Cox.
