Due to continued growth of our clients Rail Power team in Sydney, we are currently seeking qualified Principal Engineer/Associate Director suitably for the design of overhead wirings from feasibility through full detail design.
 
Your role will include:
  • Maintain, develop and retain the highest standard of OHW discipline technical skill as applicable to our clients;
  • Provide high quality engineering design and consultancy services to the rail industry in Australia;
  • Prepare overhead wiring designs from feasibility, through concept and ultimately to full detail design;
  • Providing both leadership and technical advice to project team members;
  • Reviewing of and ensuring compliance with the components of the project for which responsible, including drawings, reports, specifications and studies and the interfaces with other disciplines;
  • Promote and market all facets of services during interfaces with clients and colleagues in other sectors offices;
  • Identifying and managing risks associated with the design and delivery of rail electrical systems ensuring risk-based approach is adhered to; and
  • Maintaining a good understanding of the background of the client’s business and industry to facilitate building effective and enduring relationships and consolidating both company and personal credibility in the industry. 
You will have:
  • Relevant engineering degree with Chartered status or equivalent professional accreditation; Post-graduate qualifications an advantage;
  • 8+ years’ experience is required
  • Knowledge of different OHW systems, such as AC, DC, Heavy Rail & Light Rail would be an advantage but not a pre-requisite;
  • A proven track record in working on multidisciplinary rail projects, across the project lifecycle;
  • Demonstrate technical and commercial acumen;
  • Demonstrated experience of managing and delivering design solutions;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, with good influencing, motivating and delegation skills; and
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills, both internally and externally
