This client side organisation within the transport sector have recently had an increase in their current project portfolio and coupled with an ongoing capital works program, they have identified a number of upcoming requirements for specialist contract staff. One area where they have identified a need for project support is for a Senior OHW Engineer.

The position will be responsible for providing authoritative expert engineering innovation, planning, advice and design, relating to Over Head Wiring (OHW) and 1500V Cable Feeding Arrangements and associated materials. Addiotionally you will be reviewing and development of standards, assist in the development and provide materials, planning and solution development for OHW and 1500V Cable Feeding Arrangement and participate in research relating to materials technology and contribute to network analysis, report on network condition and performance and make recommendations.

Selection Criteria:

 Tertiary qualifications in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.

 Demonstrated understanding of design and planning of Railway OHW.

 Demonstrated knowledge of relevant codes of practice, standards, policy, procedures and guidelines relating to Railway OHW.

 Substantial experience in a relevant engineering discipline within a comparable public or private sector organisation.

 Demonstrated experience in high level problem solving relating to Railway OHW and associated materials.

 Demonstrated experience in design, construction, commissioning and maintenance of Railway OHW.

 Demonstrated experience in developing or use of design tools for mains applications.
