The Role  

Working within an established team based in Parramatta the Senior Construction Manager shall be responsible for the delivery of complex major road projects to time, cost and quality, safety and environmental requirements and provides professional guidance to other project personnel and guides and drives the of project and contract management processes.

Roles and responsibilities include but not including;

• Assist, lead and manage a project management team through the delivery / construction phase of the works.
• Managing the delivery / construction phase of the works, to provide quality works within the required project budget and program. 
• Manage team of Project Engineers, Commercial Managers, Surveillance Officers and support staff. Liaise with and pro-actively manage the construction contractor to deliver the project safely within cost, time and quality requirements;
• Deliver projects to overall project budget including assignment and management of contingency. Any change to scope impacting budget to be managed timely through the project change (PCR) process.
• Carry out Safety, Environment, Quality and community liaison audits to verify conformance to statutory and defined project requirements. Liaise with environmental, quality and community liaison representatives;
• Assist in the preparation and implementation of management of project stakeholder/ communication management plan;
• Assist in the preparation of community updates and newsletters;
• Liaise and coordinate with stakeholders, such as TfNSW, TMC, Local Councils, road operators, etc.

The ideal candidate will have experience working for or with state government clients, preferably for TfNSW / RMS, using GC21 Contracts and/or Sydney Maintenance Contracts (SMC) with construction budgets ranging from $10M to $50M. In addition, experience working directly for construction contractors on small to medium brownfield road works is advantageous.
