CGC Recruitment are in partnership with a leading tier one main contractor who specialise in the construction of transport and infrastructure projects across regional Western Australia and the Perth metro area. The business works with a variety of clients in areas such as transport, renewables, rail, mining & resources.
 
Due to recent tender success the business is undergoing a period of sustained growth and coupled with a strong pipeline of ongoing projects they have several exciting opportunities for Safety Advisors to join the business.
 
They have opportunities for candidates who are interested in metro roles and opportunities for candidates who are more interested in working on 2:1 FIFO rosters along with site uplift.
 
Duties:
  • Investigate incidents and monitor implementation of corrective actions
  • Monitor compliance with Safety and also Environment policy, procedures and legislative requirements
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits
  • Conduct or facilitate Safety educational programs
  • Assist with reporting requirements as required
  • Ensure a current understanding of all relevant legislation is maintained at all times
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of a safety culture
  • Work with staff, workers and subcontractors in the processes, skills, attitudes and behaviours required to foster a positive safety culture
  • Monitor compliance with company policies and procedures
 
Candidate Criteria:
 
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
  • 3-5 years HSE experience working in a construction environment for a main contractor.
  • Experience in qualitative risk assessment and development and monitoring of risk controls.
  • Skill in conducting and interpreting audits and reviews.
  • Experience delivering training in high-risk activities such as working at heights, confined space and rescue training.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Experience in developing, analysing and reporting on complex project performance, compliance and defects and/or non-conformance.
  • Knowledge of Safety legislation and statutes and ability to interpret any applicable statutes or legislation relevant to Project.
  • PERTH BASED WITH FULL AUSTRALIAN WORKING RIGHTS
