Job description
Our client is the operator of rail services across the metropolitan Sydney area. They also operate the Rail Operations Centre and are responsible for the maintenance of assets including tracks, trains, signals, overhead wiring, stations and facilities.
They are currently looking to engage 2 x Project Managers experienced in Civil or Construction projects, for contract positions until June 2023.
The Project Manager leads and manages the delivery of allocated projects so that planned outcomes are achieved, particularly related to schedule, scope, benefits realization and budget.
The position prepares and updates project documentation, status reports, risks and issues and change control to align with the Program Charter standards.

Key accountabilities
- Manage project to ensure timeframes and deliverables are achieved.
- Develop and control project schedules and planning activities to ensure modules are completed according to established project milestones.
- Manage key project stakeholders (internal /external) to define and integrate project outcomes to business as usual.
- Establish, manage and report on project budgets, scope, issues and risks (includes preparation of variations if required).
- Report project progress to sponsor, Senior Project Manager and stakeholders to provide timely advice.
- Ensure project delivery and standards meet agreed business requirements.
- Ensure that processes and artefacts adhere to Customer Service PMO methodology.
- Initiate new projects and workstreams where required.
- Ensure that Sydney Trains change control procedures and design assurance standards are adhered to (if applicable).
- Execute safety responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities consistent with Sydney Trains safety management system requirements which are defined in SMS document number SMS-02-RG-3058
- Relevant tertiary level qualifications or demonstrated equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience in contractor evaluation and management.
- Proven experience delivering projects on time, on budget and to scope.
- Experience in full end to end solution delivery, including business change.
- Knowledge of Heritage Works approvals.
