Job Description

Key Leadership Role in the Management and Execution of Complex Engineering Programs in the NSW Rail Sector

We have an exciting opportunity for a Program Manager to be a part of the Technology division at a NSW government rail organisation.

As Program Manager, you are accountable to Team Lead Project Managers in the execution of programs of complex one-off projects involving:
  • Newly applied technologies
  • Systems engineering
  • Systems integration
  • Multiple disciplines, and
  • Change management of the receiving business units to transform business-as-usual maintenance and operational practices.
It is expected this leadership role will directly contribute to the improvement of project management practice, procedure and tools within the group.

As a trusted Leader you will be required to manage and mitigate both program and project risk, manage safety, quality assurance, communications and change controls within budget. It is important that the Program Manager ensures that new technology delivery is appropriately integrated into the rail network and systems.

To be considered for the role you must have relevant tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering or a related discipline. You will have extensive experience managing and delivering complex, multidisciplinary projects and programs of work in a complex engineering and operational environment.

As Program Manager you are required to have strong communication skills, stakeholder management experience including the ability to manage conflict and negotiate. You are further required to have excellent commercial/business acumen and have extensive experience in contracts administration.
