Job description

Our client is the leading transport agency in New South Wales and they are currently seeking an Programme and Planning Manager for an initial 6 month contract.

The role is responsible for managing multiple, complex and interdependent programs in a coordinated manner to support Senior Management. The role delivers effective and efficient scoping, scheduling, costing, stakeholder engagement, risk analysis and management, reporting, evaluation and integration.

The role collaborates with multidisciplinary stakeholders to deliver the programs of work to agreed milestones and business objectives. The role includes supporting the subject matter experts within support Functions/Divisions to consult with key stakeholders, including local government, councils, and industry work programs.

Key accountabilities
  • Independently manage multiple complex, concurrent and interdependent, divisional, high-priority programs to ensure they are delivered to time, cost, quality, and scope.
  • Manage and assist in all phases of the program lifecycle, including initial scoping and feasibilities, funding, planning and scheduling, coordination and stakeholder engagement, tracking, reporting, evaluation and integration with existing programs.
  • Engage and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders (including other Government agencies, local government, councils, and industry), managing stakeholder expectations, ensuring effective communication, and driving program objectives.
  • Provide advice and support to assure sound program management by working closely with the stakeholders to ensure that there is effective integration and single-point accountability for the delivery of each project.
  • Ensure risk management for programs to manage safety, reputational, financial and operational risks by utilising Agency risk management strategies.
  • Collaborating as a team member with functional experts to produce successful program outcomes.
Key knowledge and experience
  • Demonstrated experience in leading complex programs of work.
  • Proven experience in delivering a program in consultation with a range of stakeholders.
