Job description

This Tier 1 Contractor are currently delivering a complex rail project involving track, civils, signalling and electrical packages of work. The project is entering a critical stage of construction and as such an urgent need has arisen for two Electrical Engineer to assist in the delivery of the substation construction and OHW packages of work.

Working within a team of multi-discipline engineers and supervisors the role will involve providing electrical engineering support for the project and will involve project planning, developing scope, developing budget etc. You will also be expected to deal and manage subcontractors to achieve project outcomes in a timely fashion. One of the positions will focus on the delivery of the substation and the other will be involved with the OHW installation.

The role will give the right candidate an opportunity to assist in the delivery of a complex rail project and would offer an overseas candidate who is new to Australia the perfect opportunity to gain some local experience in a challenging work environment. Both positions are immediate requirement and will involve working on a contract daily rate basis. As the role is based outside of Brisbane an all in rate must be provided to cover the cost of accommodation and allowances.

We are actively looking to speak to tertiary qualified electrical engineers who have a proven background in the design and delivery of HV Electrical Substation or overhead wiring projects. Additionally applicants must demonstrate a strong level of experience in providing electrical engineering support including functional specification development, design coordination, safety in design, constructibility reviews, testing and commissioning and applying engineering quality.
