We are seeking an experienced Senior Contract Administrator to join a major new build project at its critical mobilisation stage. This is a short-term contract role (12 weeks) with a leading main contractor, supporting the commercial and contractual setup of a large-scale government/defence project.
This role is ideal for a highly capable Snr CA who can hit the ground running, bring structure to early-phase processes, and ensure strong commercial foundations are in place from day one.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the establishment of contract administration processes during project mobilisation
- Review, interpret, and administer head contracts and key subcontract agreements
- Manage procurement processes, including tendering, scope packaging, and subcontractor engagement
- Prepare, negotiate, and finalise subcontract agreements in line with project and client requirements
- Develop and implement contract management systems, registers, and reporting frameworks
- Provide commercial advice to the Project Manager and wider delivery team
- Identify, assess, and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Oversee cost control processes including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
- Manage variations, progress claims, and payment certifications
- Ensure compliance with government/defence contractual requirements and standards
- Liaise with key stakeholders including client representatives, consultants, and subcontractors
- Support the transition from mobilisation into full project delivery
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Contract Administrator with a tier 1 or tier 2 main contractor
- Demonstrated experience working on government and/or defence projects (essential)
- Strong knowledge of Australian standard forms of contract and government frameworks
- Ability to quickly establish systems and processes in a greenfield project environment
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong commercial acumen with attention to detail
- Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline
