The Opportunity
An established and highly regarded commercial and architectural joinery business is expanding in Canberra and looking for an experienced Site Manager to join the team permanently.
This is a genuine management-focused Site Manager role, overseeing larger commercial joinery projects, site teams, subcontractors and multiple trades from mobilisation through to completion.
You’ll work across high-quality commercial and architectural joinery projects throughout Canberra, with genuine autonomy and ownership of site delivery.

The Role
You will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of larger commercial joinery projects, working closely with builders and the internal project, design and manufacturing teams.
Key responsibilities include:

• Managing overall site delivery from mobilisation through to completion
• Leading larger site teams, subcontractors and multiple trades
• Planning daily/weekly site activities and managing project sequencing
• Managing installation programmes and ensuring projects remain on schedule
• Liaising with builders, PMs, subcontractors and key stakeholders
• Reading and interpreting architectural and shop drawings
• Coordinating deliveries, materials, access and site logistics
• Monitoring progress, quality, defects and rectification works
• Coordinating closely with factory, design and project teams
• Managing variations and resolving site issues
• Maintaining site records, reporting and project documentation
• Ensuring WHS, site safety and compliance requirements are met
• Attending site meetings and providing project updates
• Managing final defects, handover and completion

  
About You
You may currently be working as a: Site Manager / Senior Site Manager / Senior Site Supervisor / Construction Supervisor / Foreman / Project Supervisor / Shopfitting Site Manager / Commercial Fit-Out Site Manager
To be successful, you will have:

• Strong experience in commercial joinery, architectural joinery, shopfitting, fit-out or interiors
• Proven experience managing larger site teams and subcontractors
• A strong trade or construction background
• Excellent understanding of commercial site operations
• Ability to read architectural drawings, shop drawings and specifications
• Strong programme, sequencing and planning skills
• Excellent builder, subcontractor and stakeholder management skills
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
• Sound understanding of WHS requirements
• Ability to work autonomously and take full ownership of site delivery

The Ideal Candidate
This role will suit an experienced Site Manager or Senior Site Supervisor who has progressed beyond hands-on supervision and is ready to take ownership of larger projects, larger teams and overall site delivery.
A strong background in commercial joinery, shopfitting, fit-out or interiors is highly desirable.
