About the Role Reporting into senior leadership, you will be responsible for supporting and guiding the Import Sea function while remaining hands-on across day-to-day operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing end-to-end Import Sea Freight Forwarding operations
- Supporting, mentoring and guiding team members
- Liaising with shipping lines, transport providers, customs brokers and customers
- Ensuring accurate shipment tracking, documentation and milestone management
- Managing escalations and delivering exceptional customer service
- Supporting operational efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives
- Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth shipment outcomes
- 7+ years’ experience within Import Sea Freight Forwarding in Australia (essential)
OR - 7+ years’ experience within an Import Sea Transport role with similar operational exposure
- Strong understanding of Australian import processes and freight forwarding operations
- CargoWise experience highly desirable (essential for step-up candidates without leadership experience)
- Previous leadership or mentoring experience highly regarded
- Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships internally and externally
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail
